At 70th Coventry Cubs, sessions are designed to be fun and engaging, a completely different environment to the classroom. Our regular meetings are held on Wednesday evenings 6.45 - 8.15pm in term time only.
It’s amazing what children can learn in 90 minutes each week. So far this year, we’ve done electronics, life-size table football, soldering, map reading, first aid and more.
We strive to plan a mixture of activities covering physical skills and mental challenges, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The Cubs go off-site on hikes and visits to local venues such as climbing walls and indoor kayak sessions. We’ve also taken them paddle boarding on a local river and a walking tour of the local chip shops!
Our subs across the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts sections are £13.50 per month for the first child and £11 per month for any siblings. This is reviewed annually to ensure we can cover our costs while providing value for money.
There are additional costs for camps and any specialised activities such as kayaking. We’ll communicate these costs well in advance to parents and carers.
We typically plan 3 camps per year to ensure the children can experience nights away from home and taking part in activities they may not otherwise have access to.
Our regular camps include the winter camp, our ever-popular Water Weekend which is held in the summer months and a hammock camp.
All camps are optional and typically take place within an hour's drive of South Coventry over a weekend. There's no missing school involved, and plenty of fun to be had.
